From a historical standpoint, the book puts forward a good argument. Con: I purchased the Kindle version for .99 cents but then learned that the book is available for free in several places on the Internet. Though I didn't spend much money, I still wish I had looked first on the Internet. The Kindle formatting is not so good and leaves much to be desired.

AS Promised
A rich and key document that has been giving charismatics faith crises for a hundred years.
Warfield was thorough about the more frequent fake miracles up to the time he wrote this.
Although I disagree with the premise of the book entirely, he makes a great argument for cessationism in the modern church. It is well worth the read.
A very thorough argument for the cessationist position.
Great historical view of tongues and charismatic gifts.
I am still a Reformed continuationist but this work by Warfield is a MUST for critical discernment of charismatic error.
